Official introduction
Established under a decision of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, the Association is a voluntary socio-professional organization. Its members include management agencies, import and export businesses, cooperatives, collaborative groups, and representative farming households active across the cinnamon and star anise production, processing, and trade value chain.
Lao Cai has nearly 50,000 hectares of cinnamon, concentrated in four priority districts: Bảo Yên, Bắc Hà, Văn Bàn, and Bảo Thắng.

Mission
The Association focuses its responsibilities on producers, members, the community, the environment, and the standing of the Lao Cai cinnamon and star anise brand.
Support sustainable livelihoods through international-standard organic cultivation techniques, protecting land and forest resources and raising value per hectare. The Association acts by legally representing members in linkages with purchasing enterprises to create stable outlets and reduce market risk.
Build resilient supply chains using a transparent growing-area database and high-quality, traceable, export-standard raw materials. Provide market information, guide warehouse and storage standards, and control heavy-metal residues and pesticide residues.
Protect ecosystems through watershed forest protection and erosion control; contribute to net-zero goals through cinnamon forest carbon absorption; and preserve ethnic-minority traditional labor culture.
Develop the Quế Lào Cai geographical indication through international trade promotion, affirm its high essential-oil content, and place the Lao Cai cinnamon and star anise brand on the world spice map.
